PCB FOR BOILER

PCB for boilers: everything you need to know.

Printed Circuit Board in boilers

The printed circuit board or boiler PCBs are the brain of a modern boiler. In order to get hot water from the boiler, you need the PCBs, since central heating can’t function without them. The failure of the PCB leads to the failure of the boiler.

Why is PCB Used?

With today’s automatic boilers, boiling water is as simple as clicking a button. It is the PCBs inside boilers that provide this automatic functionality, which control the different electronic components inside the boiler. Boiling water at a certain temperature takes a specific amount of electricity and a certain amount of time.

PCBs provide mechanical and electrical support for electronic components.

PCBs in a Double Boiler?

The boiler’s brain communicates with all electronic components, such as the air pressure switch, which indicates whether the flue fan (venting gasses) is working.  The operation of modern condensing boilers relies heavily on PCBs.

To ensure smooth and efficient operation, make sure your boiler’s pressure, temperature, and current are within its operating range. The boiler might be damaged if one part of it malfunctions and is operated under such conditions. Repairing them is not cheap if they break.

Why do boiler PCBs fail?

New boilers are prone to PCB failures due to three factors: boiler vibrations, water damage to internal components, and damaged solder joints.

An expert boiler engineer will take a closer look at which of the three is responsible for your boiler’s faulty PCB unit when it stops working.

Several factors could cause PCBs defaults:

  • Having problems with the display panel
  • It smells like burning when the boiler is running
  • Neither the PCB nor the display panel has power
  • Deficiency in PCB memory
  • Problems with PCB wiring

To prevent PCB damage, these issues must always be monitored and resolved as soon as possible.

Final Words: Based on the above information regarding PCBs, it can be concluded that PCBs are most important to any boiler. You can contact NESPL if you have any questions regarding the PCB failure or if you want to order a new PCB.
